| HARP & BARITONE DUO, Elaine and Dan Cook have presented recitals throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana and have been awarded Community Arts Development Grants from the Lexington Arts and Cultural Council. DANIEL COOK studied with Andrew White and coached with Italo Tajo at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and in Italy performing roles such as Falstaff, Dr. Bartalo and Leporello. Daniel has appeared as soloist with the Lexington Community Orchestra, the Lexington Singers, sang the title role in the Mikado at the Opera House and the title role in Falstaff at the University of Kentucky. Daniel is a member Lexington Chamber Choral and the Christ Church Cathedral Choir of Men & Boys. ELAINE HUMPHREYS COOK, LPO principal harpist and second harpist with the Louisville Orchestra, has appeared as soloist with both orchestras, the Evansville Philharmonic and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. She has played with orchestras in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Columbus, California and Aspen having worked with conductors including James Levine, Eugene Ormandy and Seiji Ozawa. As acting principal harp with the Louisville Orchestra for three years, she performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center and has recorded works by Gunther Schuller under the baton of the composer. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and Master of Music Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Ms. Cook teaches with the Lexington Talent Education Association and at the University of Louisville. Ms. Cook appears on the Pro Organo label with the Christ Church Girls Choir in Dancing Day by John Rutter and A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten. |
